"Well now..." He said as he crouched in front of a cute little Snom, smiling at it in delight. "Aren't you the cutest little bugger I've ever seen?"

The little one nodded, delighted someone finally noticed, and giggling as the Bug catcher picked it up and held it in the crook of his arm, tickling at its under belly.

"I would love taking ya home with me, but I don't think 'mama' would appreciate it if I did..." He said with a chuckle, prompting the little bugger to tilt its at him, confused.

So cute.

"Aw man..." He said, tugging at the neck of his top. He almost couldn't...

Behind him, Kama snorted.

"Oh shush you, I haven't done anything yet!" He said, protesting.

Kama tilted a brow at him, then gestured with her eyes at his hands.

"What?" He said, before looking down.

The snom had disappeared into one of his Safari balls.

"Dagnabbit! The ol' unconcious catch! My bug catcher instincts betray me once again." He said, 'lamenting' his own prowess. Behind him, Kama carefully lined up the smack upside the head.

With one new friend for the Mama Frosmoth to coo over in his pocket, the youth turned back to his scyther with a grin before continuing their journey deeper into the cave.

It wasn't quite chilly, yet, but he could feel the temperature begin to drop ever so slightly. The tropical heat of Hoenn was beginning to ebb and give way to a template coolness, and he couldn't claim he disapproved. He much preferred slight cold to uncomfortable warmth.

And then it got more than slightly cold, and he no longer cared for it.

"Jeez... I'm surprised we didn't meet the little guy here instead; the hell did they stuff down'ere?" He said, grumbling as he marched behind Scyther- before he ran into her suddenly extended arm, releasing a little oof.

"What?" He said, before looking ahead. He saw nothing.

Scyther harrumphed, before rearing back with her other arm and unleashing a Vacuum wave!

An invisible wall of concussive force slammed into the soil far ahead, causing it to collapse into sand... an arena trap!

... A really crappy, small, possibly useless Arena trap; more of an attempt, really... But an Arena trap nonetheless!

"Oh dear, I almost feel bad." He said after a moment of silent staring, specially when the poor little Trapinch began tearing up after their extended moment of silence.

Even Kama looked sheepish, suddenly feeling as if she was bullying a little kid.

"That aside tho... Ain't cha a pretty one!" He suddenly said as he approached the excuse for an arena trap, peering into with a grin. That was a rare sight. He had never seen a Trapinch of quite that color- must have been one of those fabled 'shinies' that were all the rage.

Fabled was the right word, too. Supposedly rarer than diamonds, these little ones.

How lucky was he?

"Man, today is just my day." He said giddily while grinning wide at the crying Trapinch, pulling another pokeball out of his pocket. "Cheer up, mate! You may not be any good at making traps, but I know you've got potential all the same. I know there's a real bug under that sandy exterior~!"

The safari ball flew.
